Post-Natal Stitches & Swelling

Soaking in an Epsom salt bath is one of the most natural and relaxing ways you can treat perineal bruising. As your body soaks and absorbs the magnesium, blood circulation is encouraged, reducing swelling and inflammation.

Generously add 250g of Newton Wood crystals to a warm bath and soak for 20-30 minutes.

Newton Wood crystals can also be dissolved in water used as a post-natal stitch spray, easing the itching and discomfort, while helping to keep infection away.*

*FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Do not use on broken skin. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs rinse with water and seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. If you have sensitive skin or skin condition always, carry out a patch test before use. Epsom salt is not a substitute for prescribed medication. For further advice, please contact your healthcare practitioner.

I was amazed by how velvety smooth the water turned once I sprinkled in some of the salts - it felt so nice on my skin. I used a whole travel sachet and that was just the right amount. I'd recommend these salts to anyone who likes a simple, effective bath as it almost instantly eased my aches and pains, or for anyone that has a busy lifestyle and wants to relax at the end of a long day.
